corner of the map....
i guess its true what they say... sometimes a picture only looks good when you zoom in close to it... but when you look at the picture as a whole... then its just not what it was before... kind of like those magic art i used to do when i was a youngling =P
is it a young lady or an old women?? its strange how at the beginning you see the young lady, but after looking at it some more you see the old women... then you have a hard time seeing that young lady in the picture again...
i guess sometimes its better to only see the young lady in the picture and without thinking too much about it... because once you've thought enough of it... you won't be able to see it anymore =(
so i will just remember how the young lady looks like in the picture and not look at it anymore... because i don't want the image of you to change...

YO-YO of life / indecisive...
everything seems to start off with a high point, everything is nice and hopeful, with all sorts of possibility... then comes the quick decent, the realization that the hope in the beginning was starting to change and nothing was like before... things change...
then something else hopeful pops up... then the process will repeat itself...
there are times when something special happens, aka them YO-YO tricks... you get stuck at the bottom for much longer than usual and have a harder time getting back up OR something really great happens and it exceeds your original expectations!! YO-YO are fun to watch because of the constant up and down that happens, but it is probably very tiring to play... since the entire thing is held on to by one finger... must get really tiring after a while...

man... cant seem to shake the feeling of wanting to go live and work in another country not call Canada, although i was born in Hong Kong, but i've pretty much grew up in Canada so this place is very comfortable for me... but having said that i think change is good sometimes, i feel that a change in living environment is good... when i am 60, i think it would be more rewarding knowing that i've lived in different places and having a chance to see whats happening in different parts of the world..
but then theres just too many things that i would have to let go if i were to go ... ahh.... dam decisions!!
but sometimes change need to happen just for the sake of change... change is like the stir stick that stirs things up when the sugar is settled on the bottom of your cup... you can't drink a coffee without a stir stick right?!?!? (although i'm not a coffee drinker, what would I know....)

holding on to the sand in your hands...
sometimes as they say, the good times go by much faster than they should...
i now have a new realization that when we are met with times of happiness we should make them last as long as we can... because once it is over they will become like a pile of sand which we hold in our hands... it will slowly slip thru our fingers until there is nothing left...
giving us all the more reason to make the good times last as long as we can and as unforgettable as we can, because if we don't the memory will slowly slip into nothingness ...

live to work, not work to live... or is it the other way around???
well we are all born with 2 hands and 1 mouth, so shouldn't that make us better do-ers than sayers?? i find myself falling into the same category, i'm more of a sayer thana do-er... i keep telling everyone life is short, so live it out, but at the same time all i could think of was ways to make more money!!! so i found myself falling into the live to work cycle too early (at least maybe late twenties and onward?)
after having been dealing with my fair share of other peoples' finance's, i see that even some people who have a lot of money are not truely happy, so why am i still trying to get to where they are....i am truly confused... maybe i just want what i do not have?
so i think i'm going to take my own advice and just go try something else, even if the money is not going to be there at the end of the day. i know that money is not the end to our means, but only a way of attaining our final goal. so hopefully i can decide to live a little and live to work!

un-surprising turn of events...
so here i am, on a sunday with nothing better to do... because my original plans of heading to downtown toronto to take some fancy photos of this plain city is currently delayed... so what better timing then to have a blog entry!
was originally looking forward to seeing how DT would be like with the indy racing in town, but the trip downtown would have to wait till maybe next week...so instead i got a last minute call today to see if i'm up for basketball... what the heck right? might has well get some ball in vs sitting on my butt the entire day!
well as it turns out that the fun i had during my vacation is constantly haunting me... makes me want to go on vacation for the rest of my life!! maybe thats why i'm starting to look for some change in my quite routine life, maybe something will spark a series of change that would give me an eye-opener or something... or maybe i'm just feeling lazy because the vacation was THAT good! but even from a mile i saw that this regular life-hangover will be something hard to cope with...
but as one thing goes away, something new comes in... much like a revolving door... but it turns out that this revolving door really leads me to no where... because there is no way to cross an ocean with a door and no peek-hole would let you see whats going to happen in the future =P

true to the name
so here we go... i'm going to give another go at blogging, haven't been doing it for a while, so might as well start a new one =D
its already been 2 weeks since my long needed vacation, but still in vacation mode, the bland-ness of canada does get a little boring, but then life cant always be exciting!!! if you don't have boring then exciting would not exist!

in summary, HK was a lot of fun, but theres only so much you can do yourself, and especially with family (esp ones who are older), theres only so many places you can walk to, but it was still amazing, the places in HK itself was enough to keep me amazed for a good week, but i think with friends it would be amazing for a few good weeks!

guanzhou has definitely changed a lot, there are no longer bicycles ruling the streets and people actually pay attention to what colour the traffic light is now (well some of them do at least) the food is as exotic as ever! and the shopping is as diversified as ever! it really is starting to make itself as a pirated HK lol... but still a place where you can have lotsa fun! (esp if you have family/friend that can bring you to the hot spots, and generally same generation is preferred)

japan was the gem of the trip, my dream destination for vacation has failed to bore me... i was amazed and dazzled by something new every minute, and was impressed by almost everything that i see, this first encounter only fuelled my need to go to japan a 2nd, 3rd, 4th ad etc times =D as the key in japan is that, if you are looking for bargains, you are looking in the wrong country, but if you are looking for something nice and stylish, just make sure you bring the dough! japan can easily turn into someone's personal financial crisis if not careful, but with careful planning and budgetting high prices can be overcome and a good time is in order! only regret is that i dont know the language... i guess nothing can be perfect... even in the perfect vacation spot, there will be some limitations!
i think having said that, best part of my trip was that i was able to make a friend in HK, heck if i cant go with my friends to HK, why not make one or 2! cuz in a city as dynamic as HK... going about it yourself would be a total waste of what the city has to offer! i'm planning my next trip to hk in around july/august... i know its hot as hell and ticket prices are at its peak... but i'm sure i'll manage... but thats the plan so far!
so starting point #2... destination asia! round 2!
